Qidwai & PakAID Ramadan Rashan Distrubution

One of the most anticipated months of the year for muslims is the holy month of Ramazan. Each muslim is obligated to fast for 30 days throughout the month to practise patience and gratitude. Sehari (morning meal) is performed before dawn followed by a whole day of fasting which is concluded at dusk with breaking the fast. During Ramadan every act of kindness is believed to have a multiplied reward from Allah which is why muslims try to be at their best and strive to be more charitable.

The Holy Quran was revealed in this auspicious month and Fasting is also one of the five pillars of Islam. It is the foundation of being a muslim and being able to celebrate the blessings of this month every year is a blessing in itself. However, the poverty index in Pakistan shows 24.3% of its population lives under the poverty line and these people are deprived of some of the most basic food items.Lack of policies in the country causes great inflation during ramadan and a common man finds it very difficult to buy basic food items thus having nothing to eat or break their fast with.

PakAID, under its seasonal programs distributes Ramadan food packs every year to the deserving communities. This food pack contains essential items such as oil, flour, lentils and dates. The Ramadan food baskets allow them to be better prepared for the month of Ramadan, easing their worries about where their next meal would come from. Female headed household families, orphans, disabled community members and disaster hit families are carefully surveyed and the parcels are distributed.Food Packs contain all essential food items sufficient to meet the dietary requirements of a family of five to seven persons for the whole month of Ramadan and celebrate Eid ul fitr.
